Explore a remote Hindu temple set on the slopes of the volcanic Mount Batukaru.Trek through UNESCO listed rice terraces and observe an ancient irrigation system.Enjoy an al fresco picnic in the paddies with stunning views of the emerald fields.

Visit a sacred temple in the rainforest, walk among the terraced rice paddies and enjoy a romantic picnic with unforgettable views. In the morning, the driver and tour guide will collect you from your hotel for the journey to Batukaru Temple. Located on the misty southern slopes of Mount Batukaru, Bali’s second highest volcano, the peaceful temple is surrounded by lush rain forest. Due to its remote location it is rarely visited by tourists, yet is an architectural beauty featuring a multitude of shrines with tiered roofs. It is meant to protect Bali from evil spirits and is an extremely sacred site for the island’s Hindu population.

From here drive to the UNESCO listed rice terraces of Jatiluwih where stunning emerald-green rice fields cover the sides of the hills. Take a short trek of about 30 – 45 minutes through the rice terraces to your special picnic spot. While you walk your guide will tell you about the Subak irrigation system that has been preserved by the Balinese farmers for centuries. Sit down and enjoy a delicious picnic lunch while taking in the undisturbed views over the stunning landscape.

Juvelo Travel

Our Story

Here at Juvelo Travel our goal is to design travel journeys that are tailored to each individual client. To create trips that have those little touches that connect each person to the destination they are in. It doesn’t matter if that is a wine tour through France, a safari in South Africa, walking the Great Wall of China, seeing mountain gorillas in Rwanda, or bungee jumping in New Zealand. My job is to design your travel so that it’s special for you and I love doing it. Nothing makes me happier than listening to someone tell be about their trip, what they did and the experiences they had along the way.
